Midwife

Maegan Schwab is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with a strong background in both high-risk obstetrics and full-scope women’s health care. With over a decade of experience in women’s services, including seven years as a labor and delivery nurse before becoming a midwife, Maegan brings clinical expertise, steady leadership, and compassionate care to every patient she serves.

Maegan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tarleton State University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Nurse Midwifery from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and has experience in OB emergency care, high-risk obstetrics, diabetic education in pregnancy, and collaborative care alongside physicians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Her background in high-volume labor and delivery settings has shaped her calm, organized, and evidence-based approach to care.

Maegan began her midwifery education while working as a labor and delivery nurse. She always knew she wanted to further her education but couldn’t imagine working in any other specialty. Becoming a CNM allowed her to expand her ability to support women and make a meaningful, lasting impact in their lives during some of their most important moments.
Patients who choose Maegan can expect personalized, evidence-based care built on shared decision-making. She believes open communication is essential in empowering women to feel confident, informed, and supported in their healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Maegan enjoys reading suspense and mystery novels and traveling with her family (especially to warm beach destinations). Port Aransas holds a special place in her heart, as she and her husband, Dusty, were married there and return each year. Together, they have two sons and they are excited to be welcoming a baby girl this spring. Their home is also full of energy thanks to their two large dogs, a silver lab named Tank and a Bernese Mountain dog named Willie.
